We jogged for a while, then walked under the shining midday sun, dodging the light when it got too blinding by skirting underneath the shady pines. Life at home was stressful; life at work even more so. Around others, I had to block out a portion of my mind; I had to chain the wolf to a stake and listen to it howl. But in the forest, the wolf and I could be calm together.
